The Florida Music Institute (FMI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2014 to provide high-quality, Suzuki-based music education in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Established by Jennifer Diedrich in St. Petersburg, Florida, FMI has grown into a respected summer music institute serving students from across the U.S. and beyond. In 2020, under the leadership of Rolando Freitag, the institute relocated to Orlando, continuing its mission to inspire students of all ages and abilities through music.
Each summer, FMI hosts a four-day Suzuki Institute that brings together students, families, and expert faculty. The program offers an immersive experience featuring individual and group instruction, ensembles, fiddling classes, and performance opportunities.
More than a program, FMI is a welcoming community where students connect, grow as musicians, and experience the joy of making music together.
